They say blondes have more fun, but let’s keep it real – maintaining blonde can be a hassle! Natural elements – water sun and pollution can make your locks brassy! Over styling and processing your hair can also leave your hair dry and prone to breakage.
Not to worry my blonde bombshells, we have four great ways to keep your blonde looking like you have just stepped out the salon!
Step 1: keep it hydrated
Trying to achieve the perfect blonde shade is difficult! Bleaching/lifting dark shades from our hair can be a very harsh process that strips oils and nutrients our cuticle has sealed within, leaving us with stretchy, brittle and dry hair. Bleached/lightened hair needs a lot of care. To help bring brittle hair back to life we recommend a moisturizing/hydrating leave in conditioner and or a deep repair mask. Deep treatments are a great way to restore moisture stripped from your hair and to prevent breakage.

All treatments are recommended for at home services as well as in salon when the chemical process is being done.
Step 2: Protect it
Protect it from the heat, back away from the blow-dryer and hot styling tools! The less heat styling – the better! Adding an excessive amount of heat styling on top of a chemical process can really damage and dull your shine. Give your hair a vacation from heat styling every once in a while, style with a cute bun, braid, ponytail or up do!
If you can’t leave the house with out heat styling your hair (like many of us) be sure to always use a heat protect spray – Defence Extinguish by De Lorenzo is a thermal spray with added Argan oil which helps with shine, spilt ends and provides humidity resistance – A must have!
Keep out of the sun:
Who doesn’t love some sun? but sadly over exposure to the sun is not only damaging for your skin but for your blonde hair. UV rays can dry out your locks and turn your beautiful blonde shade brassy and orange. Planning a day in the sun? slip slop and slap on a cute hat – if hats aren’t your thing, before you get exposed to sun spray your hair with our favourite thermal and UV protect spray, De Lorenzo’s Extinguish!
Step 3: make it last
Don’t let your cool, creamy blonde become brassy, unless this is the look you are going for. Its hard to love your blonde when the tone is completely off. To help make your colour last, we recommend investing in a purple/silver shampoo – Life changing! This formulated shampoo is a great way to counteract those brassy tones and leave your locks the creamy, cool tone you paid big bucks for!

We recommend washing your hair in silver shampoo at least once a week (keeping in mind silver/purple shampoos aren’t designed for cleaning your hair. Make your first shampoo a cleansing shampoo if you find your hair gets oily quickly) you can adjust how much you tone your hair by how long you leave your shampoo in for. For example: if your hair is brassy: try leaving the shampoo in for five minutes; for very little brass: two minutes will do!
Step 4: maintain and re book
